LMS red at Shildon...

For those who like their locos to be red there were a couple of LMS contributions to the show. 'Duchess of Hamilton' looked good in the sunshine after only seeing her in the gloom of the Great Hall at NRM York. The newly restored 'Galatea' shared the museum yard with her.

Beautifully restored from being a total wreck when recovered from Barry after standing in the yard there for 15 years. The loco was moved the Carnforth in 1980 but restoration did not start until 2000/ 2002.
